“Sometimes it takes a natural disaster to reveal a social disaster.”

Jim Wallis

In light of the tragedies and disasters that we have currently seen around the world. There must be ways for people to still find inspiration and hope to move on. As for you, whether you face it in life or business you too need to be able to cope and navigate through those times.

Disasters are nothing new, but the level and size we are seeing today is much greater than most of us have ever seen. The most critical thing is what happens during the days, weeks and months after these incidents have taken place.

You may be able to handle the moment of the disaster but it’s the aftermath that may eventually damage or kill you. Not everyone is able to handle the challenges and pressures that arise out of them.

Therefore, I do hope that this will help to bring some inspiration and help you know how to get motivated or someone else you believe can benefit from it:

1. Stay Positive

The right mindset can be a great motivator in your life. Before the external takes place the internal foundation must be set. To see better and brighter days ahead in your life or business, it must first happen in your mind.

Are you expecting a great turnaround from disaster? Do you believe “…all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” ? Romans 8:28 (KJV).

I must remind you that only the Word of God will help you keep the right mindset to overcome the aftermath of any disaster. Be sure to spend time reading the Bible and positive material to help keep you inspired.

You must also remember that there is power in what you say. You can either speak your way out of your situation or dig yourself deeper into it.

2. Chill

As hard as it may seem, you must find a way to relax yourself. I know that you may be going through a hard time but you don’t want to go into depression because you allowed yourself to worry too much. If this is a hard thing to do at home then find somewhere where you can make this possible.

A few minutes, hours or a day can make a big difference once you are able to get into that state. Make up in your mind that you are just going to do it, then watch the refreshing results it has on you.

3. Enjoy Nature

With all the changes, challenges and efforts to keep up with the speed of technology it seems like we are losing touch with nature even more and more. When was the last time you really listened to the birds singing, watched the waves splashing at the beach, or noticed the stars in the night? These things were meant for you to enjoy and appreciate.

On top of that, they are also beneficial in helping you to relax and take the stressful thoughts and emotions away from you. Remember they are the creation of God. So many times you take them for granted and only recognize them after your life experience some tragedy or disaster. Take a deep breath, look around and see what you have been overlooking for so long.

4. Celebrate You

If there is anyone that should always be willing to pitch a party in your honor it is you. Don’t just sit around waiting for others to celebrate you. Most of the time you have to get it started. As you do, invite them and give them the opportunity to join you. You may be surprised at how God allows this to help others appreciate themselves and life.

You can treat yourself by buying something that you were desiring for some time. Even if it is something simple as ice-cream or lunch. If you are a hard working individual you should definitely be spending some of that earnings on yourself.

5. Make A Few Calls

Unless you are a chronic nag, there are a few friends that will be glad to hear from you. Especially if you haven’t connected with them for a long time. Let me make this clear, absolutely no texting or emails. A plain old phone call where they can hear your voice and speak to you with an open heart.

So how does this motivated you? By the end of your conversation you will begin to realize how much they appreciate you taking the time to call them. That alone will help you know your importance and value in making others feel special.

6. Treat Someone Else

When was the last time you actually went out and did a good deed for someone else? I am talking beyond your immediate family. Since you are dealing with motivation here, do you realize that the same thing you need someone else is out there with the same need? A personal need, a business need, there’s someone else out there in the same situation.

Never believe that what you do for others will go unnoticed by God. I am a firm believer that even your business is a ministry. God has equipped you with something that will help others and at the same time he will be sending someone to be a blessing to you.

7. Keep The Fun In Your Life

Hard times doesn’t mean that you have to take the fun out of your life. It is the plan of the enemy to rob you out of the fun and excitement of life. Most of the times he tries to do this when you are faced with difficult situations. I urge you to be careful of what you do next.

Your idea of fun may be different from mine but you must allow yourself to take part in wholesome leisure and activities. Take the time to add and keep the fun going in your life. Nothing impacts the enemy more than to see you having fun when you should be having a nervous breakdown.

No matter how bad the situation, be assured that it is your response to it that will determine the final outcome.

“Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter,  you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.”– Psalm 71:20-21 (NIV)

Please feel free to share your thoughts on this and how you stay motivated during difficult times.

See you again soon.

Take care until………and God Bless ya
