“Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him],
And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].”
Proverbs 16:3 (AMP)
I have a question for you, what’s your thoughts on this? It takes faith to be an entrepreneur. I’ll go first, but think about it for a bit. If faith is the substance of things you hope for, then could it be said that entrepreneurship requires faith. And I don’t mean a little faith either. I mean when you think about it, most everything requires faith but entrepreneurship is a faith that requires risk and sometimes a whole lot of it.
Let’s think about it, you desire to start or expand your business. In many cases, you may have an idea, but not necessarily knowing how to start or which direction to go in. Then on top of that, you have thoughts on whether this will really work or not. Even if it’s a small step or project, you still need courage in order to step out.
There will always be challenges from things like fear or doubters that try to hold you back from fulfilling a dream or desire in your heart.
Let’s just be real and upfront on this matter. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. So, if this desire is in your heart as an establish entrepreneur, or an aspiring one you will face an intersection or crossroad. Then there’s the decision to do it, or continue on with a norm.
Yes, even though there are challenges, the good news is the Bible provides guidance and help even in this matter. And that means if it’s in you, it’s possible to become a reality.

Biblical Example of Entrepreneurship
There’s a great example that you should be familiar with and have heard many times before, how about we draw from the illustration of the parable of the talents (Matthew 25: 14 -30). Remember one of the main lessons in that parable? You were encouraged to multiply or get increase from your God-given talents or skills, which is a key aspect of entrepreneurship. I believe you’re in business to profit right?
See, didn’t I tell you that there is guidance available for you? God will not put you in position to lose. And if you do at any time, he has a plan to replenish it in some way. So, stay open to his guidance and the lesson he’s teaching you.
So, whether you have one talent, two or five, use it, use it, use it. Don’t bury what God has given you to better and empower your life and business.

Biblical Principles for Business
If you’re aiming for success in business and life, you must adhere to principles. The funny thing about principles, is that whether you know God or not there are certain principles that just work and it works and works.
Let’s start with the principle of integrity. You must be a person that keeps your word. Just thinking about it now, there were persons and I’ve heard of stories where persons just by a simple act of a handshake had an agreement in business, and they stood by that agreement.
Now let’s look at it in today’s world. You have written documents, and contracts made up and you sign on the dotted line and still the agreement is broken, Wow! How things have changed and integrity is losing value more and more today.
On the other hand, if you as an entrepreneur or business owner have employees, you must treat your employees at a certain standard that pleases God. That’s if you are concerned about him being glorified in this area of your life.
What about stewardship? I know you are aware that you are accountable to be a good steward over what God has allowed you to possess and any increase you shall receive. “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” – 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV). How many people you know or have heard that had, but wasted their substance or because of poor stewardship and you wonder how could that happen.

Challenges and Solutions
As a Christian entrepreneur or aspiring one, there are many more challenges out there that will try to choke or kill your efforts to be a light and example in this world. Listen, I may not have to tell you this, but I’m reminding you when money is involved people change. It’s like everybody trying to get the bag, but if they have to put you in a bag to get the bag, some people will do that, so be careful out there.
The only way you will be able to outlast and overcome the challenges you will face is through your faith, reliance, and continuous practice of the principles of God’s word. God did not leave you to be out here as a lone ranger. He has provided tools, resources and people to help you get through.
As with anything else in life, it’s your choice to put yourself in position to maximize them to your advantage.
So, I encourage you to always aim to integrate your faith in your business practices and not be like those who try to keep their faith and business separate.
Ok, we are back where we started on this, what’s your thoughts on this? It takes faith to be an entrepreneur.
See you again soon.
