“The disciple of Christ desires above all else to be like him…”

Dallas Willard.

Being an entrepreneur, business owner, or an aspiring one at its basic level the most popular thing that is focused on is becoming successful. Whether that’s trying to find the best way to do it or maintain it. Now how does being a Christian entrepreneur or business owner differ? Your journey or goal is not limited to success in the marketplace alone, but you must believe in a higher purpose and assignment.

This is why your focus should go deeper and your spiritual growth journey is more at the forefront. For the record, yes, I do desire to see you at a place of success, so go for it. Now in this post, I will not only be looking into what are some good spiritual questions but 10 spiritual growth questions in relation to entrepreneurship.

1. What is Spiritual Growth?

The first step in spiritual growth is to recognize the need for it. Spiritual growth is more than personal development.

Ultimately, it’s about growing in your relationship with God, finding meaning and purpose for your life that aligns your actions with your core values according to God as layed out in the scriptures.

By doing so, you can achieve a sense of fulfillment and drive business success.

2. Why is Spiritual Growth Important for Entrepreneurs?

Spiritual growth is more than what has been wrongfully portrayed as a spooky thing of someone just chanting words up to God and looking deep or spiritual. Spiritual growth actually flows into your life and helps provide a firm foundation for things like better decision making. Which is much needed for you as an entrepreneur and business owner.

Then there is ethical conduct, talk about a quality that’s much needed in the world we see of cheating, lies and more. Another much needed quality spiritual growth helps with is producing the capacity to endure trials and challenging times.

Your faith will be there to guide you through your journey in life knowing that there is a higher purpose beyond going after profits.

3. How Can I Incorporate Spiritual Practices into My Busy Schedule?

Busy, busy, busy. If you would be honest, this is one of those dangerous unofficial curse words out there that is deceiving you. I know you wasn’t ready for that. You have been deceived into thinking that busy is always good. Busy doesn’t mean productive or fruitful.

Let me tell you, you can be busy doing a whole lot of nothing. Let me prove it, for the last few days, weeks, months you were busy on a number of things, right? Now stop and think, how many of those things you can see a real good amount of results or progress? Gatch ya! So, it’s time to move away from the busy life to the productive, effective & fruitful life.

You must find better practical ways to incorporate spiritual disciplines in ways to pray, e.g. are you still rushing into prayer and then hurrying off to go about your busy day before God even gets a chance to speak?

How are things going with your bible study and reading time? For more wisdom make sure add in the Proverbs A Day Method.

Here’s how it works:

Day 1 of any month – Read Proverbs Chapter 1

Day 2 of any month – Read Proverbs Chapter 2

e.g.

January 1st – Read Proverbs Chapter 1

January 2nd – Read Proverbs Chapter 2

Proverbs is filled with wisdom for life, family, relationships, business and so on.

You must be intentional with your personal time for spiritual growth and personal development as you aim for success. Life has many demands as well as distractions. You can also get help from daily devotional.

4. What Role Does Community Play in Spiritual Growth?

Imagine a community with a common goal for spiritual growth. I begin to think about where the apostles in the book of Acts went about from house to house having all things in common.

”And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.“ – Acts 2:44-47 (KJV).

So how does one do this today’s society? By joining small groups in your church, mentoring programs, attending bible study nights, online communities. There’s no excuse today, but I must still warn you to be careful of who you connect with and follow.

5. How Can I Maintain Spiritual Consistency Amidst the Pressures of Business?

The pressures of life are all around you, and most definitely, you will find it in the business world and environment. Your habits of personal time will be a key factor for helping you not only face, but be a true representation of the kingdom to overcome the pressures in the business world.

Here’s the thing, you cannot wait until the pressures arrive or show up before you prepare yourself. As with anything in life you must make it a lifestyle. Just like 99 1/2 % won’t do, the same thing applies. Being a Sunday believer won’t do either.

To stay grounded you must aim for a daily lifestyle and rituals that you consistently do to build up and maintain your spiritual life. Just like the professional athlete, you must put in the time. Why? Those crucial moments when the game could be on the line will come.

To stay consistent and reinforce spiritual resilience, keep at your personal time, regular worship attendance and accountability partnerships.

6. Is it Possible to Be Successful in Business While Prioritizing Spiritual Growth?

There’s a myth out there that I’ve found myself addressing now on a regular basis, it’s religion and business don’t mix. You see one of the main reasons is, the enemy is trying to keep your mouth shut about your faith and your God.

Prioritizing spiritual growth helps you to overcome the challenges you face and more. Which in turn can better equip you to achieving success not just in business, but in all aspects of life. It’s still God that enables you to have a life of success through him.

”This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.“ – Joshua 1:8 (KJV).

7. What Does the Bible Say About Entrepreneurship and Wealth?

You are accountable to be a good steward over what God has allowed you to possess and any increase you shall receive. If you acquire wealth to any degree, you must live with an attitude of gratitude and have a generous spirit.

No way you will be able to convince me that God has put wealth in your possession for you alone. ”But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.“ -Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV).

This is why you must also approach wealth creation with humility. God puts you in position to advance his work and kingdom, not to be solely focused on building up your empire.

8. How Can I Discern God’s Will for My Business?

Discerning God‘s will for your life and business is not a one and done strategy or technique. In many instances, it will take a consistent amount of seeking guidance and direction over a period of time. So, it’s not a one prayer and you have the ultimate answer, sometimes it’s like you’re on a journey through a maze and not a straight line.

You will go through disappointments, dead ends, failures, death, rain, storms but keep going. You will grow, mature and see things clearer as time goes on. In addition to that, having spiritual advisors & mentors in your life that have walked through numerous experiences is a necessity and big plus. As I shared earlier, do not aim to separate your faith and business.

You need your business decisions to align with biblical values if you want to maximize the full potential of your success. All this must be done through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

9. What Should I Do When I Encounter Ethical Dilemmas in Business?

There will be difficulties and challenges in business, the Bible provides guidance and help in these matters. That’s the good news that God didn’t leave you alone to figure things out for yourself.

God expects you to adhere to his principles of operating at all times. Nothing gives us the power to excuse ourselves and say we did it because, or looking for the perfect “what if” situation.

Since we’re here, we might as well stop by and let the principle of integrity speak to you. Keeping your word is a must. I’m beginning to believe that written documents, and contracts came about because of too much dishonesty among men.

Even treating your clients, customers or employees is expected at a certain standard. Your commitment to do the right thing is glorifying to God. It’s also help and hope to those looking for encouragement to do what is right when faced with challenges.

10. How Can I Measure Progress in My Spiritual Growth Journey?

Even though there are various indicators, real spiritual growth brings maturity. Spiritual growth will result in you seeing an increase of the fruit of the spirit in your life. You can also see you have a desire for deeper intimacy with God. There will be a continuous longing for fulfillment of purpose.

Time must definitely be taken for reflections, journaling to see your progress. Feedback from spiritual advisers and mentors to assess your growth over time can help you stay on course and getting the right results on your spiritual growth journey.

Conclusion:

Your pursuit of success in business is inseparable from your journey of spiritual growth as a Christian entrepreneur. Knowing these frequently asked questions, aiming to live them out and keeping God as top priority, helps better position you to produce a thriving business that reflects godly values and glorifies God.

Yes, it takes commitment to pull it of but remember it’s not you alone doing this, ”I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.“ – Philippians 4:13 (KJV).

See you again soon.

Take care until………and God Bless ya
