“My goals are set, in order to be met.”
James Edgecombe
If you’re planning to set goals again, just to say you have goals then stop now. Spare yourself the effort and energy and go do something else with your time and let your life waste away.
Here’s what I don’t want to happen to you, please don’t let this be another time you end up with the same results when all is said and done.
Say this out loud, “My Goals Are Set, In Order to Be Met.”
Now as a Christian entrepreneur, business owner or aspiring one, you must make up in your mind that challenges await you. Whether it’s daily, weekly, monthly, just know they are out there. Yes, weapons Will form, but knowing and believing they won’t prosper takes effort and energy.
Before you jump to any type of goals, let’s look at the unique challenges that you as a Christian entrepreneur or business owner face.
Here’s what I’ll do, instead of giving you a list of challenges that may overwhelm you, let’s tackle just one for now. Let’s look at the challenge of adding or combining your faith in your business day to day.
Why is this a challenge at times? Due to the fact that you may have grown up hearing or living among a people and culture that say, religion and business don’t mix.
Two things are wrong with this, 1) the enemy is trying to keep your mouth shut about your faith 2) you can get stuck in this area simply because you don’t have the resources and how to.
Hence, why I strongly state the need for setting spiritual goals to help overcome this challenge and more. Which in turn can better equip you to achieving success not just in business, but in all aspects of life.
Understanding Spiritual Goals
So exactly what are spiritual goals? Let me just say there are many religions that claim some type of spirituality. Just to be clear, I am coming from the Christian perspective.
Spiritual goals are simply to help you deepen your relationship with God and strengthen you in your walk and life.
There are many categories of goals you can set in your life. Spiritual goals are of top importance because it invests in the will and plan of the one who created you. God has you here for his purpose.
Spiritual Goals Examples
Whether you have a list of five spiritual goals or ten, these two must always be found on the list. 1) Prayer – you should aim to stay in communication and connection with God. So, a Closer walk with God could be an example that can lead to a deeper prayer life. I remember speaking on a message that Prayer Never Goes Out of Style. As you and I have been challenged in the scripture that “men ought always to pray” – Luke 18:1 (KJV). 2) Reading The Bible – If you stay away from the Bible, you cause your spirit and soul to starve from its necessary food. The bible is what you use to feed your inner man and soul. “… It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4 (KJV). But the aim is more than to read, but to study and then apply it to your life and business daily.
Setting and Achieving Spiritual Goals
As I stated earlier, your aim is not just to set goals but to meet them. If we stay in the area of our top examples:
Prayer – Let’s say you’re struggling in prayer & you aim to have a more consistent prayer life.
1) Set a specific time to meet God in prayer
2) Decide on what you will pray for (make sure add current matters)
3) How long will you pray for?
4) Show up and be consistent
5) Track your progress & adjust where necessary for improvement
6) Celebrate your achievements
7) For more growth and progress, increase your efforts.
Read & Studying the Bible – Let’s say you’re struggling with knowing the bible & you aim to increase your knowledge of the bible.
1) Set a specific time to read & study the bible
2) Decide on what you will study verse, chapter, topic, book, character etc.
3) How long will you study for?
4) Show up and be consistent
5) Track your progress & adjust where necessary for improvement
6 Celebrate your achievements
7) For more growth and progress, increase your efforts.
The Impact of Spiritual Goals
Bear in mind, those previous two goals are not the only spiritual goals to have, but with these as your foundation if you expect a better experience in your life and business.
The impact of spiritual goals ranges from increased knowledge, confidence, understanding of identity & purpose. You become more consistent in your devotion to God, better character, become a better role model and example to others.
What does all this mean in summary? You become a better You. Does that sound cool or Coooooool ?????
Has this helped you in any way?
Take care until………and God Bless ya
