“True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance.

It is far deeper than that – it is a spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth.”

– Charles Spurgeon

I cannot stress this enough, do not separate your faith from your business. Your faith must be integrated in every area of your life. If you really care about your business, I don’t expect you to keep your God on the outside of your business affairs. If you are doing that in any way, you’re asking for trouble, but don’t be alarmed if that’s you, we can start to change that today so keep reading.

Let me also say that every business has its share of challenges. Small business, big business, boutique businesses, franchise businesses, multinational businesses, partnerships businesses, family businesses, one man band businesses, side gig businesses and the like, all have their share of issues. Challenges that can range from losing clients, getting new clients, product or service issues, employee issues, adjusting to new technology issues, government and regulatory issues and more.

Regardless of your issue or issues do not allow yourself to be burdened down by the weight of it. I am always of the belief that prayer is still powerful today. So, the right efforts and energy in prayer can help you navigate through these challenges and come out on the other side in victory.

Understanding the Foundation of Prayer in Business

I know you’ve heard about many prayers for salvation, healing, deliverance, and so on, but where does business come into play? There are a number of things that you would desire to pray for as it relates to your business.

Things like guidance and direction for business related decisions. Growth strategies, eagles’ eyes and discernment, wisdom to walk out of any unfavorable business situations. The desire to be profitable and to have good success.

The best way to handle and position yourself in these matters is to put it before God in prayer, ”Commit thy works unto the LORD, And thy thoughts shall be established.“ – Proverbs 16:3 (KJV). In response God gives answers in various ways.

Earlier I talked about issues that you may face in some way but always remember this,” For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.“ – Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV). God’s plan for you is to never bring disaster but to prosper you.

Known for its many chicken products, Tyson Foods has a chaplaincy program that’s been around for over two decades. They have over 100 chaplains providing pastoral care to Tysons Foods employees and their families.

The chaplains have prayer services, and also help team members through other means, like providing transportation and housing to those in need.

They also have a facility Tyson Center for Faith and Spirituality in the Workplace. It’s purpose is to help business leaders create faith-friendly workplaces through training and networking opportunities.

Setting Your Heart Right

Here’s what most people get wrong, many people think that you can just rush into God‘s presence, any kind of way. If the priest we read about in the Bible had to prepare themselves what about me and you? You must first approach God and prayer with the right heart and intentions.

The reason why your intentions need to be in line and your heart set right is because you must remember you are to seek God’s will over your personal gain. If you remember, in the first section of the prayer example of the Lord‘s prayer, it says ”..Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.“

You must come with humility as you approach the Sovereign & Supreme God. Not only because humility tastes the grace of God, but you show an act of submission as you surrender your business plans to God.

Specific Prayers for Your Business

(Sample Personal Prayer – Prayer for Direction)

Heavenly Father,

I am asking for your direction today.

I need Your help to know what to do in relation to my life and business. I need Your guidance.

Jeremiah 29:11 say “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

I am asking you to lead me on the path you have for me. I know that your ways are perfect, and I am trusting in your care. I pray that You would give me wisdom and understanding, and I ask that you would direct my steps according to your will.

Thank You for being my Shepherd. I know that I can and am grateful that I can always rely on you, and I praise You for Your goodness and mercy.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

(Sample Prayer for Others – Prayer Against Failure For Christian Entrepreneurs)

Heavenly Father, I pray for every Christian entrepreneur and business owner right now in the name of Jesus that even in the face of failure, God, I thank you that failure is

not in the bloodline of Christ and Father, I pray that they do not accept failure in their lives in the mighty name of Jesus. God, may they fight for their stuff.

Even as David rose up against Goliath, even the giants, the Goliaths that have been attacking them in their business, Father God, may they fight against them. I thank you for the courage and the boldness that you have given them even right now. And Father God, I thank you for positioning them for victory in the name of Jesus. I thank you, Father God, even as they fight, they fight Father God with victory on their minds. And Father God, they do not let up.

Father God victory belongs to them. Even as David won the victory, he was rewarded by the King. And Father God, I thank you for rewarding them. God, in every year of their lives and their business. In the name of Jesus, God, for I know that victory belongs to them and they do not accept failure. They do not accept defeat in their lives. And may they give you the praise even right now.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Creating a Prayer Strategy

Alright, let me know if you can relate to this. You know you need to pray; you are advised to pray, you have reminders about prayer, but you still struggle and fight against prayer. How does this sound? True or Trueee?

So, you just were given some examples of prayer for your business, now let’s work on the strategy to get prayer more active into your daily business routine and life.

Even before you get to the office or your business place, it must always start at home. Starting the day with prayer is a must for your own spiritual growth and development. Don’t expect others to have more drive and passion in prayer for your business than you. It’s your business, your dream, your goals.

Work on your own personal prayer life, before you want to just rush to pray for the success of your business. I have a session in my audio series Heaven Is Still In Business called “Put Down Your Phone & Check The Throne.” It’s simply an encouragement to put down your phone and pray.

Other parts of your strategy includes praying at your office or business place. Praying before & after meetings. Even though you may at these times, it doesn’t stop you from spontaneous prayers throughout the day.

How about a prayer of thanksgiving when a prospect or client calls or walks through the door. I mean even before the sale or you get a chance to find out their needs. Yes, you’re thanking God in advance and also showing a sign of acting in faith. Faith that you will find favor with the prospect to become a customer or client.

Other suggestions include setting up a prayer team among employees or fellow Christian entrepreneurs and business owners. In this way, you are keeping one another covered in prayer as it relates to your needs, challenges, desires and goals.

The Role of Faith in Business Success

Faith will play a major role in your business success. Let me remind you, it must not be hidden or buried faith. You must not just pray and then go take a seat expecting things to drop out of the sky. Your faith must be put into action. You must put in the work and trust God to provide through customers and clients.

Imagine this, a woman expected her and her son to soon die of starvation. She was but down to her last meal, and had nothing much left. Bear in mind, there was a drought in the land.

The strange thing is, she comes in contact with a prophet of God and man of prayer who asks her for a drink and a piece of bread. He instructs her to give him out of their last meal first. Out of obedience, the Lord performed a miracle that the woman’s supply was multiplied and became more than enough.

Here’s the lesson for you as an entrepreneur and business owner. If you are facing little or lack, do not despise it. God has the power to multiply whatever you are working with right now (I Kings 17: 8 – 16).

Nurturing Your Spiritual Health for Business Success

Overall, I do urge you to have and maintain a strong spiritual life through a lifestyle of prayer,  worship, Bible study, and fellowship. Not forgetting, some type of involvement in service to God and others. This which in turn creates opportunities and supports business success.

In addition to those, i do encourage you to find ways to join or form Christian business networks for mutual support and prayer. Don’t just see you in a position to just praying for your needs only but praying for others and even leading in teaching others How To Pray.

I strongly believe prayer never goes out of style. ”And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;“ – Luke 18:1 (KJV).

I cannot stress the importance of you having a prayer life. It is key to helping you be guided the right way by God. It also better positions you to growing your business in ways when others have a difficult time knowing what to do.

Let me just say, I am always trying to learn and get better in prayer. Not only just praying but praying and getting results.

So, I invite you to share your own experience and tips on how you integrate your faith and put prayer into your business practice.

See you again soon.

Take care until………and God Bless ya
