“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe,
all things are possible to him that believeth.”
– Mark 9:23 (KJV)
You say you trust God, but your actions say you trust fear more. So… what does choosing faith really look like when your dream feels like a death sentence if you were to step out of your comfort zone?
Most Christian entrepreneurs & business owners don’t need more information, they need activation. You already know God has called you.
But every time you hesitate, overthink, or retreat… you’re delaying divine impact.
And the enemy is perfectly fine with that.
Introduction: The Myth of Playing It Safe
Faith without risk is not faith—it’s fear in disguise. No one in history has accomplished great things in the name of Christ or made a name for themselves by just hoping, wishing and dreaming alone. If faith doesn’t use its legs and make efforts to walk, nothing will happen.
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” – James 2:17 (KJV)
Fear will always use something in efforts to keep you stuck and remain in the safe zone. Whether that be a person, situation or your environment. The real question is what you have believed about the safe zone, is it really safe?
Society and sadly even some church cultures have taught us to play it safe. Could it be a deception that, the enemy wants you to stay stuck in the place that could eventually lead to your destruction or failure?
For example, if Peter had decided to stay in the boat with the other disciples would he have experienced the power of his faith to walk on water? No, but the other disciples decided to play it safe.
Can you imagine their discussion when they would have came back to land around meal time and the disciples teasing him about how he almost drowned and Jesus had to save him? Imagine Peter’s sharp response, I walked on water, what about yawl? And then…. there was silence.
What Does It Really Mean to Choose Faith Over Fear?
As an entrepreneur or business owner, you won’t have courage or feel brave all the time. So, choosing faith means showing up even if you’re scared, because you trust God more than your feelings or emotions.
Choosing faith means when the numbers are not making sense, and you’re seeing nothing but loss instead of profit. It’s in those times; you still obey what God is leading you to do.
Choosing faith means stepping out, even if you don’t have the resources because you trust God to provide.
Fear is a liar and you’ve been listening to his voice too long. He’s been telling you, “You’re not ready.” Faith chooses to move anyway.
Are you ready to boost your confidence and step out in faith?
Faith is not a feeling, because if that was the case your faith would have you on an unstable roller coaster ride.
So, you must address the inner war within you. You believe that God can, but the struggle is will he do it for you? In one mind you believe the story of Jesus turning water into wine, but struggle to believe he can change your personal situation and story. Lord help my unbelief!
Hard Truths About Fear That No One Talks About
Not all feelings of fear will stir up panic or terror. What hasn’t been exposed is that most of the fears you face feel safe and comfortable.
Here’s how fear can control you as an entrepreneur or just as a believer on the whole, it can disguise itself as seeking more wisdom, waiting on God’s timing. But in reality, it’s spiritual stagnation.
Here’s how, you end up “praying about it”, overthinking, then delaying because fear has convinced you that stepping out is risky. Then you end up staying in the same cycle over and over.
Now let’s be honest, did God call you to maintain your situation or to be fruitful and multiply? You cannot be caught up baby sitting your vision, but you should be giving true birth to it.
Imagine, fear whispering “stay here, at least you know what to expect.” Faith will tell you to move even when you don’t know what is next. So, the truth is fear seduces you with comfort zones.
So, even your delay and procrastination are actually spiritual warfare that aims to keep you from moving forward. What no one talks bout is the fact that in most cases, you’re not stuck, you’re disobedient.
Think about all the instructions, advice, guidance, how to’s you were given and you have yet to carry them out. So, is that faith and obedience? Or is it… I think you get it.
The Spiritual Warfare Behind Every Big Decision
If you struggle to move on small decisions, imagine bigger ones showing up. Let’s look at how spiritual strongholds you’ve gotten too familiar and comfortable with show up in your business.
The notorious procrastination, you allow fear to cause you to doubt God’s provision and opportunities to partner with you. You make it sound like you’re waiting on more confirmation but you’re really afraid to move.
You fear rejection so you don’t make the necessary efforts to try. You’re terrified of being misunderstood, criticized or judged. It probably can be past rejection you never got over that is trying to keep you hostage.
Then there’s the constant struggle of comparison. You keep measuring up your life with what’s highlighted on social media, which often times are filled with delusions and lies. Instead, you should be grounded in your identity in Christ.
The abused power cliche of “waiting on God”, which is sometimes a camouflage for fear to hide behind an excuse. I just need you to agree that it’s a spiritual battle to step out and choose faith over fear.
Faith in Action – What Choosing Faith Looks Like Within 24 Hours
Here are a few quick things to choose from to help you take action today:
For Entrepreneurs / Small Business Owners (non-digital)
• Hand out 5 business cards or flyers today – Faith is knocking on doors, not just praying behind them.
• Ask for the review or referral you’ve been scared to request – Fear says “they’ll ignore you.” Faith says “ask anyway.”
• Walk into a store and pitch your product or service – Yes, even if you stumble through it.
• Post your face and your why on your business page – Don’t hide behind the logo. Show the mission.
• Offer prayer at your place of business – Let God work through you boldly in everyday spaces.
Business & Professional Life
• Introduce yourself on video (even if it’s awkward) – Let your audience know who you are and what God called you to do.
• Reach out to someone you admire in your field – Don’t shrink. Send that DM, email, or message.
• Raise your prices or post your service with confidence – Stop waiting for permission to charge what it’s worth.
• Apply to that opportunity you disqualified yourself from – Grant, program, event, or job – submit it now.
• Record a 60-second testimony of how God brought you through something – It builds your courage and blesses others.
• Cancel the partnership that’s draining your peace – Trust God to replace it with something aligned.
Mindset & Personal Life
• Wake up 30 minutes earlier to spend time with God – Show Him you’re serious about hearing instructions.
• Clean one area of chaos in your life – That messy room, desk, or inbox is reflecting internal disorder.
• Register for the thing you’ve been afraid to commit to – School, class, conference, whatever scares you — do it.
• Say “no” where you’ve been people-pleasing – Faith sometimes looks like setting boundaries and trusting God with the fallout.
• Write the apology you’ve been avoiding – Stop justifying bitterness. Send the text, make the call.
Real Christian Courage Isn’t Loud – It’s Obedient
Did you hear the truth about most loud people? A good number of them are really fearful. They love making noise in the crowd to be seen and heard. You will also notice they love be surrounded by people who they use to affirm them but can’t stand in confidence on their own.
The confidence that you need and should depend on should come from God. “In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: And his children shall have a place of refuge.” – Proverbs 14:26 (KJV).
The thing that also strengthens your confidence and courage is your obedience to God. There is no need to be loud and shouting anywhere to prove anything. If you really want to prove something, put in the efforts and work to back up what you say you believe.
After you’ve prayed and done all the spiritual activities related to God’s will and plan for your life, you still have to do the practical and back it up with action. This is how you demonstrate your obedience to honoring and keeping in line with God’s purpose.
