“I am still far from being what I want to be,
but with God’s help I shall succeed.”
Vincent Van Gogh
Are you seeking or in need of help in your business & life at this moment? It doesn’t matter how much success you may receive at any given moment, there will come another challenge or issue that you need help with. That needed help can fall in a few categories, urgent or critical, important but not urgent, needed but can wait and so on.
Do you realize that you can play a part in how fast help or relief comes to you? Which means, you cannot afford to sit back and relax with the mindset that God sees your need for help, and if he really wants to help you he will. I strongly believe in the faith without works is dead principle.
So, why is today’s topic important for you as a Christian entrepreneur, business owner or aspiring? Always be of a humble mindset that you need God’s help in every area of your life. And needing him in business is no exception.
Do not be deceived by people out there boasting as if their success is from the own efforts and abilities. Even though God sees, hears and allows this type of behavior, he’s a merciful God. “… For he makes his sun to shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil.” – Matthew 5:45 (GNT).
But you must be reminded that he still hates pride. Do you realize that you and I are always one moment away from a breakthrough or one moment away from judgement?
So today we’ll look briefly at… overcoming challenges with God’s help, actionable steps to invite God’s help, aligning your business with God’s will, the role of faith and prayer, understanding God’s help in business.
Understanding God’s Help in Business
What does it basically mean to receive God’s help? Just for merely being a creation of God he aims to help you by default. If the truth is brought to light, he helps you even when you sin, fall short or fail him.
Being able to understand this, brings more clarity to your faith and trust for God’s help in business. Remember, God was with Joseph on his mission and rise to success in Egypt and made him to prosper. “The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master.” – Genesis 39:2 (NLT).
Let’s look at another quick one, how God helped Solomon with wisdom. Imagine having to experience two women claiming to be the mother of a baby. On top of that, you are being given a suggestion to cut the baby in half. Let me just say God’s wisdom helped Solomon get through it and discern the real mother.
God can provide help through guidance and wisdom in your decisions. God can help you with peace and assurance in times of stress. God can provide help with the necessary resources and opportunities for your success journey.
God wants to help and support every endeavor of yours, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV).
So, what do you do when you get that help? You walk in confidence knowing this,
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13 (KJV).
The Role of Faith and Prayer
Knowing God’s full plan for your life is no easy step one, two, three formula and you arrive or see it manifest. Many times, and seasons you have to navigate through some difficult uncertainties.
This is where you learn to have, grow and develop faith. You must lean on putting your faith in God to help you through understanding his plan and timing.
Most definitely you cannot walk according to your senses alone. Real faith, is the thing that will have you believing that help is on its way to you even when you see no way possible.
This faith does not operate by itself. One of its trusted partners is prayer. Your faith and prayer working together can take you into places and experiences you would never think was possible naturally.
The prayers I am talking about is sincere and consistent. This is sometimes the distinguishing factor of what separates you from others. Showing God that you seriously need his help or even guidance is demonstrated by your efforts.
The example of the woman with the unjust judge fits right into place here. It was because of her persistence that the unjust judge knew he had to step in and help her. Don’t underestimate the power of your faith and persistent prayer.
Aligning Your Business with God’s Will
This may feel like a thought out of the blue but let’s address this here. We’re looking overall here at getting God to help you correct? What I want to highlight is are you helping God?
Helping him by being concerned about the things that he desires. Remember you are here firstly to support God’s will and purpose. Are your business goals helping in any way to accomplish his plan and will here on earth?
It’s a dangerous thing to have the mindset of aiming to build a kingdom and empire unto yourself or against God’s will. Let this be something to challenge you even to revisit your business vision, mission and goals.
So how do you get started in knowing or discerning God’s will and plan for your life and business?
As you cannot neglect prayer and times of meditation, remember God’s word is his will. If you want his ear and attention honor his word. You must continually consult the scriptures to know and position yourself to fulfill his will.
To strengthen your efforts of aligning your business with God’s will, always aim to also demonstrate and maintain integrity and Christian principles in all of your business relations.
Actionable Steps to Invite God’s Help
Invitations have power. Think of the last event or place you was glad to be invited to or be a part of. I know you need God’s help, God knows you need his help. Now listen to this, when you acknowledge that you need God’s help and invite him to help you then he takes delight in that.
When you take action through the practice of daily devotionals and getting into the scriptures you are actually inviting God into the situations of your life.
Consider the step of mentorship, coaching or even fellowship with mature, stable believers and leaders that can help you in your spiritual growth and personal development journey and beyond.
The principles of giving, tithing, helping others shows your willingness to be generous to those you come across. You honoring God through these ways also invites the blessings of God to flow back into your life.
Are you apart of any prayer group or ministry? It’s one thing when ministries are formed for general things, but imagine a group formed and designed to pray for and cater to your immediate spiritual, business-related matters. Help from God can show up in many forms.
Overcoming Challenges with God’s Help
We live in a time where most people want things instantly. As sure as God can help you in an instant or a day, be prepared to go through seasons where you need patience as you wait on God.
You wait in the doctor’s office, you wait on the bank line, you wait in the food store but have an issue waiting on God. Your perseverance through your challenges is what develops your patience in waiting on God.
Imagine this, losing everything, holding on and remaining faithful to God. Then in the end receiving more than you had before. This is a quick snapshot of the life of Job, a great example of the patience of God. Regardless of how dark it gets in your business and life; God can bring you back to a better place.
Remember…
- God wants to help and support every endeavor of yours.
- Don’t underestimate the power of your faith and persistent prayer.
- You are here firstly to support God’s will and purpose. Aim to align your business with God’s will.
- Acknowledge that you need God’s help and invite him to help you.
See you again soon.
Take care until………and God Bless ya
