What Christian Entrepreneurs & Business Owners Need To Know.
There are so many unique challenges that you face as a Christian entrepreneur or business owner. If you’re like me in any way, I believe that you would also want to know the how to’s, or steps to getting something done properly or overcome a particular challenge.
Let’s list out a few challenges if I may. Everything from upholding your values in this world…hmmnn, leading with love, making your faith a priority, standing out from your competition, keeping up with the rapid changing world, dealing with conflicts, deciding what to sell, how to gain new clients and manage existing ones, time management, choosing the right partners. Something out of that list, you can identify with that you may be having a big challenge with right now. Am I right? Or am I rightttttt? (Smiling because I know you identify).
And even as you desire to overcome that challenge, and more, as you aim to achieve success, not just in business, but in all aspects of life. Let me tell you, spiritual growth will help better position you to do that. And that is why it’s that important. My passion and desire is to help you see that. Bear in mind it’s not just me telling you, but I want to keep that intended goal in my life also.
The First – Acknowledge the need. Warning! This will not be deep. The first step in spiritual growth is to recognize the need for it. Yes, even though it is highly important, you will not pursue it or position yourself for it unless you acknowledge you need it. Unless you have an appetite for God, you will never go after him. Psalm 42:1 (Amplified Bible) – “As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks, So my [a]soul pants [longingly] for You, O God “. God is available, spiritual growth is available to you, but how bad do you need it and how bad do you want it? Les Brown says “you gotta be hungry”.
So often in the pursuit of business success, the feeding of our inner man and spiritual growth is often neglected. This is what leads to the additional negative impact on us and our lives. You can only starve the inner man for so long before you begin to see the impact in your life and business.
So, the first step is to acknowledge the need for spiritual growth and position yourself to have the need met.
The role of faith in business
Whether you recognize it or not, faith has the influence to guide your business decisions. Weak faith, can produce weak business decisions. Strong faith, can produce… I’ll let you finish that. The role of faith will not allow you to stay stuck in fear, especially fear of failure. Faith will allow you to step out, even though deep inside, you may still be afraid. But you still build up the courage to do it anyway. What if fear is standing in front of your breakthrough? Do you let fear keep it, or do you build up the courage to make a move?
Practical steps for spiritual growth
The first step, is the first step, but faith, without works is dead. You must definitely do something to see something. It’s not a one-step fix all kind of thing. You must have and develop a consistent daily ritual of actionable steps.
For starters, it should include setting aside time for prayer and reflections. Reading and studying of the Bible. Seeking guidance and help from spiritual leaders and mentors. Let me tell you, even though my life is not perfect. My life has built up to what it is because of having the right people in my life. This includes submitting to leadership, and willing to be discipled to grow spiritually.
All this and more will help you know and learn how to integrate your faith into your business as an entrepreneur or business owner. Even if you are reading this and you may be an aspiring entrepreneur, let me say it will give you the right foundation to build upon.
